So, you may be asking, Do I have time for this.... No, so we'll see how it goes.
What have we been up to:
I'm going to jinx myself by starting my first blog with some big news around our house...
1. Rachel may be potty trained.
Thanks Melissa, Denise, Laurie, Priya and Gina for motivating me. I talked up the big girl underwear about a week ago and she decided she wanted to try them out. She has been wearing them during the day ever since. She has had ~3 accident free days so far. She started pooping on the potty about day 2, which I thought she would never do since she likes to hide for that... but I think it may have come out on accident while peeing and she realized it's not so bad. I try to make her go ever 1.5 hours so she hasn't had many opportunities to say that she has to go, but she has said it. Thanks a ton to Grandma (who was visiting when we started) for making Rachel wear the underwear and go potty! She gets either a marshmallow, a piece of candy or a treat from the treatbox when she goes, so I need to wean her off that....
She doesn't like to and isn't great at pulling off and on her underwear... hopefully that will come to, and I usually wipe her (should I be making her do that?)
So now I need to find disposable toilet seat covers, we already have tried out McDonalds' bathroom - yuck!
2. 4th of July
We started the day walking in the neighborhood parade, just a bunch of kids with decorated bikes and wagons following a firetruck. We met Carter and ran into Natalie and many neighbors there. The plan was to pull both kids in the wagon but Rachel decided at the last minute she needed to ride her bike. Brian and I hoped to make it to Priya's and Melissa's party in the afternoon but we napped instead. (sorry!). That night we went to the street party that had our baby pool, 2 waterslides, a DJ and lots for food. We had a great time.
3. June 15 - Derek's First Birthday
We had a few of friends over to celebrate Derek's First birthday.
This is the cake, of course it took longer to make then I would have liked, luckily Libby and my mom helped a lot.

4. Grandma and Grandpa visit.
We played outside in the pool one day and they took Rachel to the jumpy place.

Hi, newbie blogger. :) I still help E with her undies before and after using the toilet. Just the way it goes until they are old enough to do it. She *can* ... she just doesn't always. But way to go -- glad to hear that training went so well, so fast! When they are ready, they do it. Expect some occasional setbacks, and don't cut the rewards too soon.
